DVD Slide Show

We can create for you a DVD slide show to play on your TV via your DVD player, or on your computer via its own DVD player software (not supplied).

Once your photographs have been scanned and saved to a data CD or DVD, we can use the images to create a DVD slide show for you. Equally we can convert your own electronic images to a DVD slide show, whether you send them to us on your own data CD or a Kodak Photo CD, or even a USB memory stick. A DVD can contain a combination of images we scan and images you send us.

The DVD will contain one or more menu pages. Each slide show can contain a maximum of 99 images, and we recommend a maximum of 8 slide shows per DVD. Each slide show has its own menu icon, and you select which slide show to watch with your remote. When the end of that show is reached, the player will go on to the next slide show automatically until it reaches the end. You can stop or pause the slide show as with any video DVD or return to the menu. Each slide displays for about 5 seconds, with a smooth transition into the next slide.

When your images are added to the slide show, they are automatically re-sized to the standard DVD image size of 720 x 576, conforming to CCIR-601 D1. This is the full PAL studio resolution (not HD) and will display good quality images on 'normal size' TVs - you will see some loss of resolution on very large (>40") TV sets, but no different to most broadcasts. The display will automatically adjust to wide screen ( 16:9 ) or 'normal' screen ( 4:3 ) size. Scanned images produced by SLX are suitable at all resolutions. If you send your own images for inclusion please ensure they are at least this size.

It is possible to add an audio track during the creation of the DVD. We do not hold any non-copyright music, but if you would like music to accompany the slides you can send your favourite track(s) on CD. A slide show with 99 slides is approximately 10 minutes in length including the transition time between each slide.
