Here we use our scanner's Digital ICE function to remove scratches and dust marks, where the film allows this - see the Technical Information section for more information, after gentle brushing to remove as much dust as possible. Where ICE was unable to remove all marks, we will attempt to remove the worst of the marks manually. However this can be very time-consuming and therefore full clean-up may fall outside of the scope of the limited time available within our low scanning costs. We cannot do dust & scratch removal on black & white film.

Fingerprints and the spidery marking caused by fungus growth on the film cannot be removed by Digital ICE and can require considerable effort to remove manually. Again we attempt to remove the worst of the marks but cannot guarantee to remove completely within the scanning cost quoted. We do often spend a lot of extra time at no extra cost to try to produce the best image we can.

Before saving to CD / DVD we crop and rotate the image if necessary. For Print Scanning we will remove blemishes manually as far as possible but cannot guarantee to remove all where an image is badly marked or has deteriorated seriously.
